Awesome Google Maps Update You Need to See
I’m not sure when this happened, but Google Maps just implemented Google Earth and it’s AWESOME. (Some of my Facebook/Twitter followers are telling me it’s been there for a while, but I guess with my keen sense of direction I don’t use Google Maps quite as much as I used to).
Google Earth creates 3D “renderings” of major cities, allowing you to fly over Toronto’s various buildings, and being a Condo-nerd like I am, I started going to all of my favourite condo developments to check out the views from various directions.
Awesome 3D Renderings with some detail. The Ritz is one of my favourite buildings in the skyline and they capture the shape beautifully. Note the RBC logo on the RBC Dexia building – great attention to the small details.
I started having fun by checking out what some views would look like from future developments such as Chaz on Charles Street. Naturally I chose a high floor and wanted to see the south view.
Future South view from Chaz? Awesome potential for this new change by Google
There is crazy detail, and I thought i’d also check out everyone’s favourite ‘hood – Cityplace.
Cityplace in Glorious 3D (I got as much as Cityplace as I could, I wanted to squeeze the Rogers Center into the shot)
We’re having a lot of fun with this new implementation from Google. Check it out, but only if you have a couple of hours to kill because I found myself flying all over the GTA.
