In the video below, Shamez Virani (President, CentreCourt Developments) talks to Roy Bhandari of TalkCondo and highlights how they envision Axis Condominiums to attract a new emerging demographic in what he refers to as the “knowledge economy”.
“We design it for ultimately who we see living in this area” Shamez says when they look at reverse engineering their condos to fit what the area needs. Shamez highlights a shift in what todays students are striving for, “When I graduated the top students wanted to go into investment banking or consulting or accounting, [today however] an increasing portion of those students who are wanting to explore careers in technology, computer science, and engineering.”
Recently we have seen a surge of technology companies entering Toronto, with companies such as Facebook, Google, Bitstrips and Snapchat recently opening offices in Toronto.
Shamez continues “this location and the design of this building is very much designed for young professionals in mind and that an emergence of a new category of professionals who have a very different outlook on how they like to live and what they want in their building and suite than some other demographic.”
“So we realized sort of these two things are coming together. So who do we see living at Axis? I see, you know I’ll call it the late 20’s to mid-30’s demographic largely focused on people who have careers in computers science and engineering and technology and people who are doing extremely well but want to be in a building in a location that sort of designed with that mind.”
Much like past CentreCourt projects such as INDX (where they tailored the project for the financial district workers and features unique attention to detail with things like wine fridges, shoe shine stations and cigar lounges) and Grid Condos (with the Ryerson student in mind, with a full floor learning centre and floor plans designed to maximize student living), Axis will feature unique features that cater to this new and emerging demographic in one of Toronto’s most sought after neighbourhoods.
We expect Axis to become one of the most sought after condominium launches this fall. For front of line access, register by clicking on the button below.
