Canderel Announce New Waterfront Site at Bathurst & Lake Shore

Canderel have announced that they have acquired a 1.8-acre site at 545 Lake Shore Blvd. West located at the corner of Bathurst and Lake Shore Blvd West from Rogers Media.  The site is currently used by Rogers for production studios and corporate offices.

Canderel are one of our favourite new condo developers in Toronto and boast an impressive CV of condo projects.  They are known for pioneering and elevating new neighbourhoods including King West with their DNA 1, DNA 2 and DNA 3 condominiums and College Park with College Park 1, College Park 2, Aura Condos (Toronto’s tallest condominium) and most recently, YC Condos.

Canderel do their best work when they are given the freedom to develop communities that about so much more that just building a condominium tower.  At College Park, not only did they bring in incredible amounts of new retail and restaurants, they also developed a 3 acre urban park that connects the entire project at the heart of the neighbourhood.

With a 1.8 acre site in Toronto’s western lake front, we expect Canderel to flex their muscle in creating a community that will go beyond just adding new condominiums.  The location is steps to Billy Bishop Airport and is in a location that is getting a $128 million make over across the boardwalk that will include wider granite sidewalks, separated bike paths and additional landscape improvements.
