Cityzen Hire Star Architects for their Waterfront Project

Cityzen Developments have today confirmed that they have selected International renowned firm Foster + Partners as the lead archtects for their new waterfront project in the Don Lands.  The site was originally set to become a Home Depot but was later rezoned for commercial and purchased by the Cityzen Group.

The West & Lower Don Lands are about to get a LOT of attention on TalkCondo as there are a number of incredible projects in the pipeline for this incredibly underutilized portion of land in Toronto. Leading the line are River City (Phase 1 and 2), Mondial, and now this un-named Cityzen project.

Foster + Partners will be joining an already star studded line up of architects, including Toronto’s own Alliance Architects and KPMB.  Some of Foster + Partners unique work can be found below.  Foster + Partners are best known for their work on the Swiss Re HQ in London, otherwise known as the “Gherkin” bulding.

Cityzen are no strangers to unique architecture.  They are responsible for arguably the two most unique developments in the GTA with the Absolute Towers in Mississauga and L Tower in Toronto.
