A Closer Look at the Works of Frank Gehry
The news that Gehry and Mirvish will be teaming up to build three mega towers on King Street has divided opinions. One side of the fence loves the fact that a world class architect is bring three iconic towers to Toronto while the others argue that losing the Princess of Wales Theater would be a major detriment to the City.
No matter which side of the fence you are on, the Gehry-Mirvish story has people talking. Toronto bringing in Frank Gehry to design major towers is the architectural equivalent of having Michael Jordan move into your neighbourhood. While you may have heard the name “Frank Gehry”, you may not be familiar with his work. This post will highlight his major architectural accomplishments around the globe.
Frank Gehry is a Toronto born, Los Angeles based celebrity architect that is known for his unique buildings that sometimes favour design over function but always look spectacular.
