The Bloor-Yorkville district of Toronto has changed much in 50 years . In the late 60’s this district was the cultural centre for hippies and folk artists. Today, the affluent Yorkville District of Toronto has become know as the “the Mink Mile”. This name is attributed to the neighbourhoods world-class shopping and exquisite dining.

Location
The Yorkville neighbourhood is located in the centre of midtown Toronto, just north of the city’s downtown core.
The village is centred between Bloor Street to the south, Davenport Road to the north, Yonge Street to the east and Avenue Road to the west. The heart of this district is the Bloor Street corridor.

What to do in Yorkville
It is widely known that the Yorkville district is home to arguably “the fanciest shopping” area in the country. Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Tiffany $ Co., and all the other top brands in fashion are present along the stretch of Bloor from Yonge past Bay. Yorkville avenue and Avenue road play host to some excellent shopping as well.
For the intellectual types, there is more than enough in this part of town to satisfy the need for learning. Toronto’s reference library is the biggest in the city, there are many world class cafes to work in, quite parks and parkettes that provide a great backdrop for a good read, and of course the historic Royal Ontario Museum.
After a day of exploring, Yorkville offers many great locations to satisfy its resident’s hunger. Toronto Life recently nominated Buca in Yorkville as the hottest new restaurant in the city. Many of the world’s most acclaimed restaurateurs flock to this district to add to its great portfolio of world-class restaurants and nightlife.
