M City Condos Rendering Turning Heads Ahead of Launch
One of the most anticipated new condominium developments in the Toronto area in 2017 will be located in Mississauga. Yes, you read that correctly. M City Condos is located in the Mississauga City Centre will be backed by Rogers and while the early renderings gave us something to chew on, the brand new images show that they are going the extra distance in design and architecture and are willing to go toe-to-toe with the award winning Absolute Towers.
Rogers announced that they plan to re-develop this parcel of land to include between 10-12 new condominium towers (up to 6,000 new suites) while also promising to develop the ground level to include brand new retail, public spaces and parklands to develop a community within the community.
The brand new rendering highlights a very curvaceous tower design that would feel right at home in any major intersection of Downtown Toronto and must leave many wondering why the big smoke isn’t getting designs of this quality.
The design also appears to address one of the major flaws of Absolute Condos. While the exterior of Absolute is stunning (nobody can argue that), the circular design of the building has lead to some awkward floor plans and interior spaces. The first tower at M City Condos offers a delicious silhouette while maintaining a rectangular floor plate which would not impact livability and floor plans.
The first tower is expected to reach 60 storeys, making it the tallest tower in Mississauga (beating out the 56 storey Absolute Towers) and the image also highlights special attention paid to the podium and the public realm.
Early signs for M City look very positive. We love a master planned community when they are done well. They offer huge upside for investors while simultaneously improving the neighbourhood they occupy.
