We recently had a chance to interview Elliot Taube, the president of International Home Market Group who will be responsible for the sales and marketing for Nobu Condos. Taube discussed the importance of the Nobu brand on a global scale, highlighting a quote from Madonna who says “I can always tell if a city is gonna be any good if it has a Nobu in it”

During the interview, Taube can’t hide his excitement about his involvement in bringing a Nobu to Toronto stating “this is the biggest thing I’m involved in”.
At King & John – Stones Throw From Everything
Nobu is going to be located on Mercer Street and we couldn’t think of a better location for this brand. The towers will rise just south of Festival Tower, home to the annual Toronto International Film Festival and we can’t help but find some irony in the fact that the Robert De Niro owned brand will have his signature restaurant and hotel just steps from the headquarters of one of the worlds biggest film festivals.
The Entertainment District has enjoyed enormous growth in recent years, becoming a hot bed for some of the best spots Toronto has to offer. World class entertainment is at your doorstep with the Theatre District, Roy Thompson Hall, Rogers Centre and Air Canada Centre just steps away. Mercer Street itself is in line for a make over and the street will be lined with cobblestone to help elevate the street, borrowing the style from the famous Mercer Street in SoHo, New York City.

Toronto will be the home to the first Nobu Hotel, Restaurant & Condominium. When talking to Taube about the condominium portion, he was quick to highlight that they haven’t made any compromises and he highlighted a couple of key areas that he was particularly excited about.
The lobby will be designed with the best materials, taking design cues from the top Nobu locations around the world that will welcome residences home.
Taube was particularly excited about the state of the art fitness area and states they are building a gym that you “could die for”.
And of course suite designs and layouts will be designed with investors and end users in mind, ranging from one bedroom suites to three bedroom suites, Nobu will have something for everyone.
