Thompson Residences Prices to Increase

Thompson Residences, one of our favourite projects from 2010 are about to shut up shop and increase prices starting from April 1st. Having sold approximately 75% of their units and getting final approval from the city to build 12 Storeys, Freed Developments are ready to put the shovel into the ground for their flagship project of “Freedville” located in the very popular King West neighbourhood.

Thompson Residences will be the Thompson branded condominium development, located immediately north of the super-popular Thompson Hotel & Residences (55 Stewart/550 Wellington).  The hotel and underground club has become a popular and exclusive spot for Celebrities to hang out, and the rooftop pool area has been raved about by residents and guests alike.

The Thompson Residences borrows a lot from the hotel, including the rooftop area that will feature the longest rooftop pool in North America, stretching 140ft.  The rooftop will be run by the Thompson Group, meaning it will be a full service bar area for the residents to enjoy.  With more and more events happening in the King West area, the rooftop will definitely be a premium hang-out spot.  In addition, a high end restaurant and high end retail is also pencilled in for the development.

The rents in The Thompson Hotel development are among the highest in the Entertainment District, fetching approximately $3 per square foot per month consistently.  The lure of the brand, as well as the key ammenities and awesome suite finishes are an important factor that will spill over to The Thompson Residences when it’s completed in 2014.
